Injuries, Black Widow and Alyss progress

Night before last sucked – I got the evening off to a bang by stepping on a needle. And I don’t mean just pricking my foot with it, oh no, it went clear through the side of my toe. Nice little piercing, I should have just slapped an earring on it and say I meant to do it. It hurt worse pulling it out than it did going in. Luckily it hasn’t hurt much at all since then.
Then I told myself I was going to “power through” the last of the ruffles. I’d already hand-sewn a few of (besides doing a few other things), so it was starting to get late, and after sewing one ruffle on, I realised I’d lost the thread out of the needle. So I worked the whole giant ruffle mess back around to sew it again, rethreaded the needle and worked my way around again. Only to realise 2 seconds after starting, the thread had come off AGAIN. I would have quit right then, because like my mom I usually take those things as a sign I need to stop for the night. LOL. But I was POWERING THROUGH. So I worked it back around again and tried it again… and lost the thread again. I quit that time.
I did work on the headpiece for Surprise #1 one, but needed some clear elmer’s glue to do most of it and I couldn’t find mine… so got some yesterday.

Anyway, last night I DID finish powering through the ruffles. They are ALL ON. I messed a few edges when I was cauterizing, if I have time I’m going to go back and get them, if not it’ll just have to wait. I started on a little bit of the beading just to see how it was going to look but no more than that… I was going to work on the collar, planning on using my Snow White collar pattern as a base, and couldn’t find the stupid pattern anywhere. So I didn’t mess with it. I sewed more wefts in the Lady Gaga wig, Chase finished my cage skirt, and I made the shirt for his costume.

Chase did also finish my Widow’s Bites:
